Discover the Gulf of Porto and its calanques by sea kayak on a 7-day itinerant stay!
Our stay around the Piana calanques and the Scandola Reserve, classified as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is certainly the most wild of the sea kayak routes! Its inaccessibility and the shape of the coastline make for a discovery as surprising as it is magnificent. Through diving and bivouacs on beaches, you will discover a «wild» Corsica.
Unforgettable moments of relaxation and discovery, the sea and the shoreline intertwine to reveal a palette of colours of rare intensity.
We will do an average of 3 to 5 hours of kayaking per day punctuated by breaks. Occasional walks will allow us to appreciate the cultural and natural richness of the places visited: Genoese towers, coastal path, encounters with locals, etc.
For navigation:
For bivouac:
Hermetic box Tupperware type of 0.6 to 0.8 litres;
1 fork, 1 knife and 1 teaspoon;
Cup Ecocup type.
Clothing:
Hygiene:
Optionally: camera, mask and snorkel, card game or compact game, as well as cash for beach bars.
First aid kit:
Also ask your doctor and pharmacist for advice. Also remember that you will need to carry your first aid kit, so only bring the minimum necessary.
We also have a luggage storage facility where we can keep items you do not take on the stay. Therefore bring a bag for this purpose, on which your name and the name of the stay will be noted.
Continental breakfast, then cold meal at noon and hot meal in the evening. Meals are prepared collectively. Fresh fruit and vegetables, local products and varied menus are planned throughout the itinerant stay.
You will be accompanied by one of our state-certified professionals. True modern adventurers, your guide will be able to make you experience adventure through their passions: kayak, sea, fauna, flora, geology… and of course Corsican heritage.
We are on the West coast which is regularly exposed to winds. As the sea is calm in the morning, most of the navigation will take place at that time, before the thermal breeze of the afternoon animates the Mediterranean.
Programmes are given as a guide. Unforeseen events are always possible and situations beyond our control may modify the course of events (sea conditions, weather, group level, health of participants…). The safety of the group remaining our priority, our guides may be led to modify the itinerary.
Equipment provided:
Regulation sea kayak, approved buoyancy aid, spray deck, paddle, plastic waterproof bags, stoves, tarp in case of rain.
The kayaks we use are single and double kayaks in which all belongings are loaded in order to navigate in complete autonomy.
It is also recommended to bring waterproof bags suitable for your equipment (electronics, clothing and sleeping gear), as well as plastic bags (we provide waterproof bags for your equipment, but a «tear» can always happen, so plastic bags are an extra protection).
Although the kayak compartments are large, only take what is strictly necessary as loading them will remain a game of optimisation.
Narrow or soft items (clothing, sleeping bag and mattress) will be placed in the ends of the boats (front and rear tips), while heavy and dense objects (canned food, water) against the cockpit bulkheads.
Welcome at Ajaccio airport at 1pm (or directly at the Cors'Aventure base, 20117 Eccica-Suarella).
This final navigation leads us finally to the port of Sagone for a last lunch before returning to the Cors'Aventure base. Packing away equipment then transfer to Ajaccio.
End of stay.
