Difficult
This circuit is aimed at sporty people who have ultimately already had an experience of itinerant sea kayaking. It is a seven-day supervised route of a pronounced sporting nature. This stay is supervised by a state-certified sea kayak professional, specialist in our region.
The itinerary proposed in this stay is a technical and demanding one. Stretching 156 kilometres, the daily distances vary between 17 and 28 kilometres. The itinerary crosses many protected natural reserves which obliges us to determine the landing and bivouac sites in advance and thus offers few fallback options. This route is aimed at an informed and trained audience. It involves covering long distances by sea kayak for seven consecutive days. You need to feel capable of renewing the effort day after day. Also, this route requires very good physical fitness as well as prior experience of itinerant kayaking with bivouac nights.
Please note: you are not likely to forget the sumptuous landscapes of Corsica, but they do not make it any less difficult! Your guide also reserves the right to refuse the departure of any participant whose equipment does not conform to the list below, and to end the participation of any person whose physical aptitude or behaviour is incompatible with the smooth running of the stay. This is why, for the success of the stay, so that everyone can fully enjoy it and for safety reasons, it is necessary that you meet the physical and material requirements.
Programmes are therefore given as a guide. Unforeseen events are of course always possible. Your guide may be led to modify the itinerary for various reasons, notably unfavourable weather conditions, the physical level of the group or any other external event beyond their control, the safety of the group remaining our priority.
Optionally: camera, mask, snorkel, card games or compact games, as well as cash for beach bars.
Ask your doctor and pharmacist for advice, and remember that you will need to carry your first aid kit, so only bring the minimum necessary.
We also have a luggage storage facility where we can keep items you do not take on the stay. Therefore bring a bag for this purpose, on which your name and the name of the stay will be noted.
Continental breakfast, then cold meal at noon and hot meal in the evening. Meals are prepared
collectively. Fresh fruit and vegetables, local products and varied menus are thus planned throughout the itinerant stay. Please let us know of any food intolerances or allergies.
Remember to bring snacks for the long days of navigation. Compotes, cereal bars, energy bars, dried fruit, gels… Indeed, everyone has their own dietary habits during exercise, it is important not to change them. Make sure not to restrict yourself and to bring a good daily quantity.
State-certified guide. A true modern adventurer, they will be able to make you experience adventure through their passion.
The meeting point is at 9am at Bastia airport. A shuttle is organised to Saint-Florent, the departure point of our itinerant stay.
Regulation sea kayak, approved buoyancy aid, spray deck, paddle, plastic waterproof bags, stoves, tarp in case of rain. The kayaks we use are single and double kayaks in which all belongings are loaded in order to navigate in complete autonomy.
It is also recommended to bring waterproof bags suitable for your equipment (electronics, clothing and sleeping gear), as well as plastic bags (we provide waterproof bags for your equipment, but a «tear» can always happen, so plastic bags are an extra protection).
Although the kayak compartments are large, only take what is strictly necessary as loading them will remain a game of optimisation. Narrow or soft items (clothing, sleeping bag and mattress) will be placed in the ends of the boats (front and rear tips), while heavy and dense objects (canned food, water) against the cockpit bulkheads.
18 kilometres – approximately 4 hours of navigation
Brief briefing, presentation of the stay, explanations and instructions. The kayaks are already loaded, all that remains is to organise your personal belongings. First kayak navigation in Balagne, and entry into the Agriates Desert. We discover the famous beaches of Lotu and Saleccia. We finally reach Ghignu beach and its paillers, renovated former shepherds' houses. This traditional setting puts you in a Corsican atmosphere for this first bivouac night.

Departure at dawn for this second day of navigation. We navigate through the heart of the Agriates Desert, a particularly wild region, where a dense scrubland flourishes amidst valleys interspersed with rocky ridges. This exclusive and particularly wild scenery transports you to another world. We finally reach Ostriconi beach, accessible by sea only, or on foot. Located at the mouth of its eponymous river, it sits in the heart of a particularly wild landscape, untouched by human hand. Furthermore, if one turns one's eyes, one can catch sight of Cap Corse taking shape. The spectacle is in short grandiose. Our path then leads us to bypass Ile Rousse to reach Bodri beach, where we spend the night.

For this third day of navigation we follow the coast between Île Rousse and Calvi. Davia, Algajola, Sant'Ambroggio, and so many other marinas that would be a shame not to discover. The Punta Spano and its tower bring us back to a wild and authentic setting, bordered by its numerous rugged cliff coves that give another dimension to the landscape. L'Arinella di Calvi, this long paradise beach, then shows us the way to Calvi and its famous citadel, in which lies its historic centre. Above the town, one can catch sight of the chapel from which Notre-Dame de la Serra watches over the people of Calvi. We reach the Revellata peninsula at the end of which stands its lighthouse which, as always, shows the way to sailors, and will also show us the way.

28 kilometres – approximately 7 hours of navigation
This day of navigation is probably the longest of our itinerant stay. We follow the West coast of the Revellata, still under the protection of Notre-Dame de la Serra, and finally begin our descent of the West coast of Corsica. In the distance, we can admire Monte Grossu, as well as the highest summits of the region taking shape. Here, the coast is rugged, the cliffs offer a completely different setting, we thus chain the different capes, cross the famous bay of Nichjaretu, and bypass Capu Cavallo and its former signal station. We bypass Capu Di a Mursetta, the last cape of the day, after which Argentella beach finally reveals itself in the heart of Crovani bay, where we set up camp for the night.

Still in the heart of a particularly wild and rugged landscape, far from any urbanisation, we continue our itinerant stay. We bypass the Punta Di Ciuttone and enter the Gulf of Galéria, where we discover a small marina in a picturesque setting. The Fangu delta flows into the sea, and the mountains in the background offer an even more sumptuous landscape. Our route continues along these cliffs until finally reaching the Focolara cove of the same name. It is in this magical place that we spend the night.

This sixth day of navigation takes us to the heart of the Scandola Natural Reserve. This reserve, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a geological gem born from volcanic eruptions 300 million years ago. Considered a major centre of biodiversity, you will notably be able to admire ospreys and their impressive nests perched at the top of the cliffs. The protection of this area has seen their population, once on the verge of extinction, gradually increase over recent years. We evolve in an unprecedented setting, before reaching the fishing village of Girolata, a village accessible only by sea or on foot. Further south, Tuara beach opens its doors for our last bivouac of the week.

For this last day of navigation we leave the Gulf of Girolata and bypass Monte Senino, whose red cliffs contrast sharply with the turquoise of the sea. We finally follow the coast heading south. Discovery of the Purtellu Arch then Bussaghlia beach. In the distance one can finally catch sight of the Turghu Tower which stands atop Capu Rossu. This final particularly splendid image will ultimately close our adventure. We finally enter the Porto marina, last stage of our route. A transfer is organised to our base near Ajaccio, then a transfer will be organised in the late afternoon for Ajaccio airport.
